Trump Wins New Hampshire.

Donald Trump easily takes New Hampshire from Nikki Haley, although the race was much closer than Iowa. While this gives Trump great advantage, South Carolina may be a closer race than one thinks. Trump has recently been ordered to pay $83 million to E. Jean Carroll in a defamation suit. Wither we believe the charges and such against Trump are true or false, the hits keep coming. At what point will the "straw that breaks the camels back" fall? At what point do we realize that Trump cannot win the general election? Will it be after a November loss? Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is polling at 20% in some political areas. We need to understand that Kennedy is a Democrat who believes that the DNC, and the "woke" citizens, have lost their minds. Even running as an Independent, Kennedy could win. He will pull votes from Trump and many from Biden. He needs to be taken seriously and the GOP needs to take a long hard look, before the South Carolina primary, February 24th.

Free Elections.

Taiwan recently elected a new executive and he has promised to lead Taiwan while maintaining peaceful relationships with the Chinese.. This election was not exactly what the Chinese was wanting. It is sad that it appears that official American policy is that we do not support a free and independent Taiwan. I suppose this is due to ensuring we do not go to war with China, but can we not support a free people diplomatically? Why is everything leveled to war? We go about in the Middle East beating "freedom" into the heads of a certain culture, but yet, do not even give vocal support to Taiwan? Something to ponder over in regards to our Foreign Policy.

Mark Robinson Rally

Mark Robinson and many Republican candidates held a rally in Person County last evening. Mark Robinson is running for governor in North Carolina on the Republican ticket. This was my first rally, so I didn't know what to expect. I should have asked questions; however, many questions were answered. Robinson is most definitely a Republican/neo-conservative. He does have one or two libertarian ideas but predominantly, he is a conservative. One thing is for sure: the man is passionate about the future of our state. His ideas on education reform is of particular interest and his views on dictate from the governors office is almost wholly libertarian.

The race for the US House seat from our district (13) is crowded. There are a few younger candidates that are of interest and everyone needs to look them all up and send them questions! They were only given 1 minute to speak so there was not much substance in their speech. They were, without a doubt, many who were motivated. I was very refreshed to see that motivation. The crowd is also diverse. Yes, the Republican ticket, in the primary, for US House District 13 is very diverse. This is very good for the Republican Party. Also, it speaks volumes of the Person County GOP to put this together. There has been some negative perception of the Party in the county, and attempts are being made to repair relationships and reputations.

Harris and Trump

Politics, oh the joy! Harris and Trump. Republicans and Democrats. Left and right. Freedom and...freedom. Well, that's what they say. To listen to our major parties rhetoric, each one is right and each one is wrong. The truth of the matter is that both are, uh, both? Both have presidential qualities and both have proposed policies that are, honestly, good and bad.  Trump is an overgrown child. An intelligent and successful overgrown child but a child nonetheless. One could argue wither his success is through bully tactics or business acumen, but he is successful. He is childish in his mannerisms and his speech, as far as public appearance can be perceived. It is interesting that his child-like public persona has been somewhat scaled down this election cycle. It is possible that his campaign finally understands that  middle-of-the-road voters have no desire to have the leader of the free world sound like a middle school bully in recess trying to take someone's lunch mone...

Conservatism

Edmund Burke, Portrait  c.  1769 Conservatism is a political and social philosophy that promotes the maintenance of traditional institutions and supports minimal and gradual change in society over time. Check my link page! Core Principles: Conservatism as a philosophy is centered around several core principles: Tradition : Conservatives value the customs, conventions, and continuity of societal organizations as a guide for the present and future. Tradition is seen as a cumulative wisdom of the past that should be honored and preserved. Order and Stability : A stable social order is deemed essential for the well-being of society. Conservatives often emphasize the need for a hierarchical structure and clear authority lines to maintain stability. Individual Responsibility : Personal responsibility and self-reliance are emphasized. Conservatives believe that individuals should take responsibility for their actions and welfare rather than relying on government assistance. Rule of Law : ...

Afghanistan

Foreign policy and geopolitics can be a messy business. It is more messy the more one injects ones nose into someone else's business.  Nation building; more bluntly, empire expansion is costly, and often will fail unless the conquered culture truly accepts its conquered state. Afghanistan is a recent example of this. Trillions of American dollars have been spent on creating and nurturing a democracy. Conspiracy theorist ideas aside, what has happened there is an embarrassment. The majority of Americans, I believe, do feel as though we couldn't be there forever. Pulling out of the country should have been the goal all along, and one should strongly reflect on future occupations of foreign soils after this debacle. I have stated before that we should have never occupied Afghanistan at any point. Leaving is a good idea; how we leave matters. For some reason (maybe nuclear) we, as a country, love Pakistan and there are credible sources who say that most of the problems there are ...
